In addition to being the Head Coach of our 2018 T2 Team, Kevin Lalande will take on the role as Goalie Coach for our Black Aces teams.
"After a 7 year hiatus from the game of hockey I'm excited to embark on a new adventure...
Up until my retirement in 2017, hockey had been a major part of my life. Growing up in a family that bled Bleu Blanc Rouge, I had to look no further than Patrick Roy for inspiration. I remember being no older than 4 years old and watching on repeat a video cassette my mother had recorded of the 1986 Stanley Cup finals, pretending I was making saves for the Montreal Canadiens in our living room in Kingston, ON.
That early fire inside me burned all the way to getting drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2005. Stints with the Flames, Blue Jackets and Wild organizations rounded out my career in North America. Sprinkled in all of that are 7 years in Russia playing in KHL including 4 World Championships representing Belarus. I've been blessed to learn from the best, Francois Allaire, David Marcoux, Dominic Roussel, Sebastien Farrese & Andrew Mercer all had critical roles in my development as goalie coaches. The position has come a long way since my playing days but I look forward to welcoming the new challenge while sharing what I have to offer through my own experiences and also continued hunger for knowledge. Can't wait to see you out there." - Kevin Lalande
